Privacy Notice (Australia)
How we handle personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles.
This is our collection notice and privacy summary under the Australian Privacy Principles (APP 1 and APP 5). We do not collect sensitive information on purpose, so we ask for no separate consent. (The Privacy Act's small business exemption may apply to us at first; we follow the APPs anyway.)
1. Privacy Act 1988 (Australian Privacy Principles)
- Who: RETROBOND TEKNOLOJİ BİLİŞİM LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, a limited liability company established in Turkey, Cumhuriyet Mah. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv. Cadde 224 No: 41 A/A, Nilüfer, Bursa, Türkiye. Contact: support@taketurn.co.
- What and why: Privacy Policy Sections 2 and 5. Collected from you and from your phone; Apple or Google may tell us only your age range. Without the required information (for example your birthday, first name and profile photo) we cannot create your account.
- Disclosure: to Cloudflare, Apple and Google as service providers (and Firebase Crashlytics by Google once crash reporting is switched on), and to authorities (including NCMEC) where the law requires. The on-phone sensitive-content check uploads nothing.
- Overseas (APP 8): data is processed in the United States and other countries where those providers operate, and our team may access it from Turkey. We take reasonable steps so that recipients handle it consistently with the APPs, and we remain accountable for it.
- Automated decisions: when many different verified people report an account within a short time, it is limited automatically until a person reviews it. This uses the reports, who made them and when. Nobody is suspended or banned by an automatic step.
- Access and correction (APP 12, 13): ask in the app, at taketurn.co/support or at support@taketurn.co. We answer within 30 days.
- Complaints: write to us first; then the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
- Data breaches: we assess a suspected eligible data breach within 30 days and notify the OAIC and you when serious harm is likely.
- Age: 18+ only; the under-18 sign-up lock stores only a one-way code (hash) of the sign-in account and the date the person turns 18.
2. Online safety
- Online Safety Act 2021: report illegal or harmful content to us (in-app, taketurn.co/support) and to eSafety (esafety.gov.au); we act on eSafety removal notices within 24 hours and follow the Basic Online Safety Expectations. Intimate images shared without consent are removed within 48 hours of a valid request.
- Social media minimum age: TakeTurn is only for people 18 or older, above the minimum age of 16. To keep under-age people off TakeTurn we ask for the birthday at sign-up, use the age range from Apple or Google where offered, review waiting-list applications, verification selfies and reports by hand, may ask for an age-check selfie, and remove accounts that belong to anyone under 18.
