Terms of Service
The agreement between you and TakeTurn: accounts, Takes, rules, disputes.
The short version
This box is a plain summary. It is not a substitute for the full Terms below, which are the binding agreement.
- You must be 18 or older to use TakeTurn. We remove accounts that belong to anyone under 18.
- TakeTurn is free. There are no ads, no payments and no in-app purchases. We do not sell your data.
- A Take is a photo you capture in the app and send to friends. To see a Take, the recipient sends one back. A revealed Take can be viewed once, for up to 15 seconds, and then it disappears.
- You own your Takes. You give us a limited permission to store and deliver them, only to run TakeTurn. That permission ends when the Take is deleted.
- Other people can still capture what you send (for example, by photographing the screen with another phone). The app blocks screenshots and screen recordings of Takes and tells you about attempts when the phone lets us, but no app can promise this 100%. Only send what you are comfortable with.
- You are responsible for what you send. We do not check Takes before they are delivered. Our automatic checks (such as the sensitive-content blur) can make mistakes and are not a guarantee.
- TakeTurn is free and provided "as is". To the extent the law where you live allows, we are not liable for what other users do, for lost streaks or Takes, or for outages, and our liability is limited (Sections 17 and 18). Your rights as a consumer that the law protects always stay with you (Section 18.6).
- Follow our Community Guidelines. If you break them, we may warn you, limit or suspend your account, remove it, or ban you permanently. We tell you why, and you can appeal any limit, suspension, removal or ban.
- Content involving the sexual exploitation of children is never allowed. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities as the law requires. See our Child Safety Standards.
- Intimate images shared without consent are never allowed. The person shown can ask us to remove them, and we do so within 48 hours of a valid request (24 hours in India) (Section 10.7).
- If you live in the US, disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out within 30 days. This does not apply where the law does not allow it, such as in the EU and the UK.
- Questions? See Section 24 for how to contact us.
1. About these Terms
1.1. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and the provider of TakeTurn ("TakeTurn", "we", "us" or "our").
- The provider is RETROBOND TEKNOLOJİ BİLİŞİM LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, a limited liability company established in Turkey, which develops and runs TakeTurn. On the App Store and Google Play it appears as "Retrobond".
- Registered address: Cumhuriyet Mah. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv. Cadde 224 No: 41 A/A, Nilüfer, Bursa, Türkiye.
- Registration details: MERSİS No. 0734276305800001; tax ID (Vergi Kimlik No) 7342763058, Nilüfer Tax Office (Nilüfer Vergi Dairesi); authorised representative: Mertcan Şimşek.
1.2. These Terms apply to the TakeTurn mobile apps for iOS and Android, the website at taketurn.co, and any related features or services we offer (together, the "Service").
1.3. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1.4. These Terms include, by reference:
- our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data; and
- our Community Guidelines, which explain what is and is not allowed on TakeTurn, including our Child Safety Standards.
We also publish information pages that explain how we apply these Terms: our Safety Center, our EU Digital Services Act information, our Law Enforcement Guidelines, our cookie notice, our Support page and our account deletion page.
1.5. Key terms. In these Terms:
- A "Take" is a photo captured with the TakeTurn in-app camera and sent through the Service, together with its caption.
- "Catch time" is the time window the sender chooses (from 5 minutes to 12 hours) during which a recipient can reply to unlock a Take.
- "Catch" means replying to a Take with your own Take so that you can see it.
- "Content" means anything you or others submit through the Service, including Takes, captions, profile photos, first names, usernames, reports and support messages.
- "TakeTurn Parties" means the provider named in Section 1.1, its owners, members, managers, employees, contractors and agents, and anyone who takes over the Service from them.
1.6. Language. We offer these Terms in English and translate them into other languages for your convenience. The translations are made carefully, but if a translation differs from the English version or is unclear, the English version applies, unless the law where you live requires that a version in your language applies. Where that is the case, the version in your language applies and the English version helps to interpret it.
2. Who can use TakeTurn
2.1. Age. You must be at least 18 years old. TakeTurn is not for children or teenagers.
2.2. Age check. We ask for your birthday at sign-up only to confirm that you meet the age requirement. We never show your birthday to anyone. If we learn or reasonably believe that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it and delete its data, except the minimum we must keep to prevent re-registration or to meet the law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, as defined by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Anyone can report an account they believe belongs to someone under 18 (Section 10). If we removed your account by mistake, you can appeal (Section 11.7).
2.3. Other eligibility rules. You may use TakeTurn only if:
- you can form a binding contract with us;
- you are not barred from using the Service under the laws that apply to you;
- you are not located in a country or region subject to a US, EU, UK or UN embargo or sanctions program, and you are not on any US, EU, UK or UN list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- you will not use the Service in breach of export control or sanctions laws; and
- we have not previously removed your account for breaking these Terms or our Community Guidelines, unless we have told you in writing that you may return.
TakeTurn is offered only in the countries where we choose to make it available in the app stores. We may block access from other places.
2.4. Your age promise. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the birthday you enter is your real birthday. We rely on this promise. Our age checks (Section 2.2, and the review of profiles and selfies) help keep TakeTurn adult-only, but they cannot catch everyone, and we do not promise that every user is 18 or older. If you give a false birthday or act as a reference for someone under 18, you break these Terms and you are responsible for the consequences, to the extent the law allows; we will remove the account (Section 16).
2.5. Personal use only. The Service is for personal, non-commercial use. You may not use TakeTurn on behalf of a business, brand or organization, or to promote one.
3. Your account
3.1. Signing in. You sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. We do not create or store a password for you. You are responsible for keeping your Apple or Google account secure. Anything done through your TakeTurn account is your responsibility unless it happened because of our own failure.
3.2. Sign-up steps. To create an account, you:
- accept these Terms;
- sign in with Apple or Google;
- enter your birthday (for the age check only). If you are under 18, sign-up stops here: the account made when you signed in is deleted at once, and that Apple or Google account cannot be used to sign up again until you turn 18 according to the birthday you entered (see our Privacy Policy, Section 15.4);
- enter your first name (no surname);
- choose a unique username;
- add a profile photo of yourself (required at sign-up; you can remove it later); and
- take a verification selfie, then join the waiting list (see Section 4).
3.3. Accurate information. The information you give us must be true and about you. Your first name must be your real first name. Your profile photo must be a real, current photo of you. See our Community Guidelines for details.
3.4. Usernames. Your username must be unique. You cannot change it yourself after sign-up. You may ask us to change it in Settings > Report an issue or by contacting us (Section 24). We may approve or refuse the request. If your username breaks these Terms, for example because it impersonates someone, infringes a trademark or is offensive, we will ask you to choose a new one, and we may reclaim the old one.
3.5. Usernames stay reserved. When an account is deleted or removed, its username stays reserved. Nobody else can register it. This protects people from impersonation and helps prevent people who were removed from coming back. The Privacy Policy explains the minimal record we keep for this.
3.6. One account, one person, one phone. Each person may have only one account. An account may only be used by the person who created it. You may not sell, transfer, lend or share your account. An account can be active on one phone at a time. Signing in on a new phone will sign you out on the old one.
3.7. Keeping your account safe. Tell us right away (Section 24) if you think someone else has accessed your account.
4. The waiting list, references and verification
4.1. Waiting list. After sign-up, new accounts join a waiting list. You can leave the waiting list and start using TakeTurn in one of two ways:
- Team approval. Our team reviews your profile and verification selfie and approves you; or
- A reference. An existing user vouches for you (see 4.2).
We do not promise that anyone will be approved, or approved within a certain time. We may decline an application for any lawful reason, for example if the profile photo does not show a real person or the selfie does not match it.
4.2. References. An existing user can act as your "reference" by entering your exact first name and username. You then have 24 hours to accept. If you do not accept in time, the reference expires.
- References are limited. Each new member starts with a few (currently 10 for the first 5,000 members and 3 for everyone after them) and earns more by reaching milestones in the app, such as app-open day streaks and catches.
- References have no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold, traded or transferred.
- When you act as someone's reference, you are telling us that you know them and that they are a real person aged 18 or older. Do not act as a reference for someone you do not know.
- We may remove references, or the ability to give them, if they are misused (for example, if they are traded or used to bring in fake or under-18 accounts).
4.3. Joining by reference does not make you verified. If you join through a reference, your account is not verified until you complete verification yourself.
4.4. Verification. Verification means a human moderator on our team has compared your selfie with your profile photo and confirmed that a real person who matches the profile photo is behind the account. Verified accounts show a badge.
- Your selfie is reviewed by people only. It is never shown to other users.
- We do not use your selfie for facial recognition, and we do not create a face template or any other biometric identifier from it.
- We delete your selfie right after the verification decision.
- If 5 verification attempts are rejected within one week, you will not be able to try again until a week has passed.
- Verification is tied to your profile photo and your first name. If you change or remove your profile photo, or change your first name, the badge is removed. The same happens if we remove your profile photo because it breaks these Terms. You can verify again at any time, as often as you like.
4.5. What the badge does not mean. A verification badge only means the selfie matched the profile photo at the time of review. It does not mean we checked anyone's legal identity, background, age documents or intentions. It is not a guarantee that a person is safe or trustworthy. Use your own judgment with everyone.
5. How TakeTurn works
5.1. Taking a Take. Takes are captured live with the TakeTurn in-app camera. You cannot upload photos from your gallery as Takes, and there are no filters. Each Take needs a caption of up to 100 characters.
5.2. Sending. You choose a catch time between 5 minutes and 12 hours and send the Take to one or more friends.
5.3. Catching. A recipient first sees a blurred version of your Take with its caption. To see the Take clearly, they must send you a Take of their own ("reply to catch").
5.4. Viewing. Once a Take is revealed, it can be viewed once, for up to 15 seconds. It then disappears from the app.
5.5. Missed Takes. If the catch time runs out before the recipient replies, the Take is "missed" and disappears.
5.6. Unsending. You can unsend a Take until your friend starts replying to it. After that, it can no longer be unsent.
5.7. No saving in the app. The app does not save Takes, and users cannot save other people's Takes in the app.
5.8. When Takes are deleted from our servers. We delete a Take from our servers once it has been viewed or missed. As a safety measure, we keep an encrypted copy of Takes you received in the last 24 hours, for no more than 24 hours, so that you can report them if needed. If a Take is reported, we keep the reported content for as long as needed to review it and to meet our legal obligations. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
5.9. Friends and social features. You can find friends by username search, profile link or QR code, and send friend requests. If you cancel a friend request, you cannot send a new request to that person for 24 hours. We may suggest "People you may know". These suggestions come mainly from your friend network: people connected to you through your friends, and through their friends, with people closer to you and with more friends in common shown first. We may also show people who recently joined your friend network, and people with many friends in your network. When your network gives few suggestions, for example right after you join, we may also suggest people in your country (or nearby countries) who joined recently or are very active (they opened TakeTurn in the last 3 days; those with the most catches come first). Your country is estimated from your IP address. Your country and your activity are used only to choose and order suggestions and are never shown to anyone. Your friends (and no one else) can see a green dot on your photo if you opened TakeTurn in the last 48 hours ("activity status"; never an exact time); you can turn this off in Settings, and then you no longer see other people's dots either. There is no switch for these suggestions in the app. You can object at any time by writing to us in the app, through taketurn.co/support, or at support@taketurn.co (Privacy Policy, Section 7.4). There is no public feed, and we do not rank or recommend content. The app shows streaks (your app-open day streak and streaks with each friend), catches and friend counts. People who are not your friends see only a limited version of your profile.
5.10. Pause. You can pause your account. While paused, you are hidden from search and friends cannot send you Takes. To come back, just sign in again.
5.11. Notifications. Push notifications never show the photo or caption of a Take on your lock screen. You can choose which notification categories you receive in Settings. Account and safety notices are always on, because we need to be able to reach you about your account.
5.12. Changes to the Service. We are always working on TakeTurn. We may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you can do with the Service, we will try to tell you in advance where reasonably possible.
5.13. Streaks, catches and references have no value. Streaks, catches, counters, references and other in-app milestones are a fun part of the app, not property. They have no monetary value and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged. A streak can end because of timing, a missed Take, a lost connection, a phone or system problem, an outage or an error on our side. Where the app offers it, a broken streak can be restored once in the way the app shows (for example, by sending a Take in time); otherwise we do not restore streaks or other counters, and we do not owe compensation for them, to the extent the law allows. We may change how streaks, catches and references work.
5.14. Connection and delivery. TakeTurn needs an internet connection. While you are offline, actions that need our servers (such as sending a Take, adding a friend or reporting) are not available, and the app shows the last copy saved on your phone. A Take can be missed if its catch time runs out while you or your friend are offline, and notifications can arrive late or not at all, because they depend on Apple, Google, your phone and your network. Mobile data charges from your network provider are your responsibility.
5.15. Test versions. We may offer early or test versions of TakeTurn (for example, through TestFlight, a Google Play test track or a closed beta). Test versions may have bugs, may lose data (for example, streaks or settings), may change or stop at any time, and are provided only for testing. If you send us feedback about a test version, Section 7.7 applies. Everything else in these Terms applies to test versions too.
6. Screenshots and what we cannot control
6.1. Please read this carefully. TakeTurn is designed so that Takes disappear. But no app can fully stop someone from keeping what appears on their screen.
6.2. What we do. Where a Take is on screen (in Chats, in the reply camera and in the 15-second view), the app blocks screenshots and screen recordings, so they do not show the Take. When someone tries to capture, record or mirror the screen while your Take is on it, we notify you where the phone's operating system tells the app about the attempt. On some older Android versions the phone does not tell the app, so the Take is still protected but no notification is sent.
6.3. What we cannot do. No app can stop every capture, and we do not promise that a Take can never be kept. For example, a recipient could photograph their screen with another phone or camera, a rare system error or a modified phone or app could let a capture through, or a person could simply remember and describe what they saw. Notifications about capture attempts may not arrive in every case.
6.4. Your choice. Only send Takes to people you trust, and only send what you would be comfortable with if it were kept or shared. We are not responsible for what recipients do with content they capture outside the Service, although such conduct may break our Community Guidelines and we will act on reports.
6.5. Respect others. Capturing or sharing someone else's Take without their permission is against our Community Guidelines. Doing so may also be illegal in some places, especially for intimate images.
6.6. Automatic checks are a help, not a guarantee. Some features use automatic checks that run on the phone, for example the check that blurs Takes and profile photos that may contain nudity or sexual content, and the check that a profile photo shows a face. These checks can be wrong in both directions: they can miss sensitive content or flag an ordinary photo, and they do not look for other kinds of harmful content (such as violence). Whether sensitive Takes are blurred for you is your choice in Settings. Do not rely on these checks to protect you from content you do not want to see; use Report and block when something is not okay. The checks never decide anything about your account on their own (Section 11.2). To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for content that an automatic check did not flag, or for a photo it flagged by mistake.
7. Your content
7.1. You own your content. You keep all rights you have in the Takes, captions, profile photos and other content you submit. We do not claim ownership.
7.2. The limited permission you give us. So that we can run TakeTurn, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, non-transferable license (except to our service providers, as described below) to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display and adapt (for example, resize, compress or blur) your content. This license is only for:
- operating, delivering and securing the Service;
- showing your content to the people you choose to send it to, and showing your profile to other users as the app is designed to do;
- reviewing content that is reported or that we need to check for safety, legal or moderation reasons; and
- complying with the law.
7.3. What we will not do. We will not use your Takes to advertise, sell them, license them to others, or use them in marketing without asking you first.
7.4. When the license ends. The license ends for each piece of content when it is deleted from our systems, as described in the Privacy Policy. It continues only for as long as we keep content for a lawful reason, such as a pending report, a legal obligation or a legal claim, and only for that reason.
7.5. Service providers. We may let our service providers (such as hosting and storage providers) use your content on our behalf and only to help us provide the Service.
7.6. Your promises about your content. You confirm that:
- you have the rights needed to submit your content and to give us the license above;
- everyone who can be identified in your Takes has agreed to be photographed and to have the Take sent; and
- your content does not break these Terms, our Community Guidelines or the law.
7.7. Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions about TakeTurn, we may use them without any obligation to you.
8. Your responsibilities
8.1. You are responsible for your conduct on TakeTurn and for the content you send.
8.2. You agree to:
- follow these Terms, our Community Guidelines and all applicable laws;
- treat other users with respect;
- respect other people's privacy and rights, including by not capturing or sending images of people without their consent;
- keep your account information accurate; and
- use only the official TakeTurn apps and website to access the Service.
8.3. What you send is yours to answer for. Takes go straight from you to the friends you choose. We do not look at them or approve them before they are delivered. You, not TakeTurn, are legally responsible for the content you send, including making sure that the people shown in it agreed and that sending it is legal where you and your recipients are. If you send content that breaks the law or harms someone, you are responsible for the consequences, to the extent the law allows.
8.4. Disagreements between users. You are responsible for your dealings with other users. If you have a dispute with another user, it is between you and that person; we are not a party to it. We may help, for example by acting on a report, but we have no obligation to do so beyond what these Terms and the law say. To the extent the law allows, you release the TakeTurn Parties from claims and damages arising out of disputes between you and other users. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code Section 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." This Section 8.4 does not apply where your local consumer law does not allow it (Section 18.6), and it never limits our responsibility for our own breach of these Terms or our own legal duties.
9. What you must not do
9.1. There is no tolerance on TakeTurn for objectionable content or abusive users: we remove such content and act against the accounts involved (Section 11). Our Community Guidelines describe in detail what is not allowed. In short, you must not use the Service to:
- send or share any content that sexually exploits or endangers children, in any form;
- send nudity or sexual content;
- harass, bully, threaten, intimidate or stalk anyone;
- promote hate or violence against people based on who they are;
- promote, threaten or glorify violence, terrorism or violent extremism;
- encourage or promote self-harm, suicide or eating disorders;
- buy, sell or promote illegal goods or services, weapons, or drugs;
- spam, scam, phish or defraud others;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent who you are, including your age;
- share someone else's private information (doxxing), or images of people without their consent;
- save, capture or share someone else's Takes without their permission;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights; or
- break any law.
9.2. You also must not:
- create more than one account, or create an account for someone else;
- create a new account after we removed yours, except by using the Create a new account option on the removal screen (Section 11.8), or create any new account after we permanently banned you;
- use the Service if you are under 18;
- misuse the reference system, for example by selling, trading or giving references to people you do not know;
- try to get around our limits, enforcement actions, blocks, screenshot protection or screenshot detection, or use a modified app or phone to do so;
- access, collect or copy data from the Service by automated means (such as bots, scrapers or crawlers);
- reverse engineer, decompile, modify or create derivative works of the app, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers or networks, or test its security without our written permission;
- upload viruses or any harmful code;
- use the Service for any commercial purpose, advertising or promotion;
- misuse our reporting tools, for example by filing false or bad-faith reports; or
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of the above.
10. Safety, reporting and blocking
10.1. Reporting. You can report a person or a Take from inside the app. When you report someone, they are also blocked. Reported users are not told who reported them.
- Reporting Takes. A report about Takes covers what that person sent you in the last 24 hours.
- Reporting an account. You can report an account for things like its profile photo, its name, impersonation, being under 18, or spam.
- Other issues. You can contact us about anything else in Settings > Report an issue.
10.2. Blocking and removing friends. You can remove a friend or block someone at any time. A blocked person cannot send you Takes or friend requests.
10.3. Reporting without an account. Anyone, including people without an account, can report illegal content or a safety concern through the form at taketurn.co/support or by email (Section 24). Please include:
- the username involved, and the date and time if you know them;
- why you believe the content is illegal or breaks our rules;
- your name and email address (not needed if you are reporting child sexual abuse material); and
- a statement that you believe in good faith that your report is accurate and complete.
We confirm receipt, review your report and tell you our decision and how you can challenge it. Our Safety Center and DSA page explain the process.
10.4. Emergencies. TakeTurn is not an emergency service. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
10.5. Law enforcement. We may share information with law enforcement where the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent death or serious physical harm. If we become aware of information that gives rise to a suspicion that a criminal offense involving a threat to someone's life or safety has occurred, is occurring or is likely to occur, we will tell the relevant authorities. Our Law Enforcement Guidelines explain how we handle requests from authorities.
10.6. Child sexual exploitation. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material ("CSAM") and any content that sexually exploits children. When we become aware of apparent CSAM, we remove it, permanently ban the account, preserve the content and related information, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and to other competent authorities where the law of the country concerned requires it. We also report apparent child sex trafficking and online enticement of children. NCMEC may share reports with law enforcement around the world. An account banned for this is never restored. Never send such material to us, even to report it: describe where you saw it instead. See our Child Safety Standards.
10.7. Intimate images shared without consent (TAKE IT DOWN Act). You must never share, or threaten to share, intimate images of anyone without their consent, including edited or AI-generated images. The person shown, or someone authorized to act for them, can ask us to remove such an image, with or without an account, in Settings > Report an issue, through taketurn.co/support, or by email (Section 24). A request must include (a) a physical or electronic signature, (b) enough information for us to find the image, (c) a brief statement of good-faith belief that it was shared without consent, with any relevant information, and (d) contact details. Within 48 hours of a valid request, we remove the image and make reasonable efforts to remove identical copies on TakeTurn. If you live in India, we remove it within 24 hours of your complaint. Our Safety Center explains the process.
11. Moderation and enforcement
11.1. Who moderates. A small team of human moderators reviews reports and enforces our rules using an internal moderation tool.
11.2. How reports are reviewed. Every report is reviewed by a person. To protect against abuse of the reporting tools, only reports from verified accounts count toward automated thresholds. When enough different verified users report the same account within a short time (fewer are needed for child-safety reports), the account is automatically limited (Section 11.3) until a person reviews it. A threshold never suspends, removes or bans an account. No final enforcement decision, such as a suspension or removal, is made by automated means alone. We do not automatically scan Takes on our servers; if we start using automated tools to detect known illegal content (such as known child sexual abuse material), we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy first, and a person will review any match. We aim to review urgent safety reports within 24 hours, and we prioritize reports about child safety, threats to life or safety, and intimate images shared without consent.
11.3. What we may do. If we believe you have broken these Terms, our Community Guidelines or the law, we may take action that matches how serious the problem is. Usually we follow this ladder:
- Warning. Your account keeps working normally. The warning tells you which rule was involved and when. It is information only and does not restrict your account, so it cannot be appealed.
- Temporary limit. For a set time (for example, 24 hours), you can still open TakeTurn and look around, but you cannot send or reply to Takes, add friends, be a friend's reference, share your profile, edit your profile or verify. The limit ends automatically.
- Temporary suspension. For a set time (for example, 7 days), you cannot use your account. You can still read our decision in the TakeTurn chat, appeal, change your language, read our policies, delete your account and log out. The suspension ends automatically.
- Account removal. We remove your account. Your username stays reserved, and nobody, including you, can use it again.
- Permanent ban. We permanently close your account, and the Apple or Google account you used to sign up can no longer be used on TakeTurn.
We may also remove or restrict specific content, remove references, or remove the ability to give references.
Accounts under review. Sometimes we need to check an account before we decide anything, for example if we believe it may belong to someone under 18 or after a child-safety report. While it is under review, the account works as if suspended. This is not a decision against you, so there is nothing to appeal yet. We may ask you to verify your age or to tell us more. If everything is in order, we reopen the account. Otherwise, we take one of the actions above, and you can appeal it.
11.4. Severe violations. For severe violations, we may skip steps and permanently ban an account immediately. Severe violations include, for example, CSAM or any sexual content involving minors, grooming, credible threats of violence, terrorism-related content, sextortion, sharing intimate images without consent, trafficking or exploitation, and serious fraud.
11.5. How we decide. When deciding what to do, we consider things like how serious the conduct is, whether it was intentional, its impact on others, whether it is illegal, and your history on TakeTurn. We make decisions carefully, objectively and in proportion to the problem.
11.6. Statement of reasons. When we take action against your account or content, we send you a notice in the official, read-only "TakeTurn" chat inside the app, unless the law stops us or it would put someone's safety at risk. The notice explains:
- what action we took, and for how long (if it is temporary);
- the facts and circumstances that led to the decision, including whether we acted on a report;
- which rule in these Terms or our Community Guidelines was broken, or, if the content is illegal, the legal reason;
- whether any automated means were involved in detecting the issue or making the decision; and
- how you can appeal, and the other options described in Section 11.10.
If you reported content, we also tell you what we decided about your report.
11.7. Appeals. If we limited, suspended, removed or permanently banned your account, or removed content you shared (for example a Take, a caption or your profile photo), you can appeal the decision. You can appeal once per decision, within 6 months of the decision:
- in the app, with the Appeal button on the screen that shows your account's status, or from the decision message in the TakeTurn chat; or
- without signing in, using the form at taketurn.co/support (topic "Appeal a decision"), or by email (Section 24), with your username and the decision you are appealing.
Appeals are free. A warning on its own cannot be appealed, because it does not restrict your account, and neither can a review that has not led to a decision yet (Section 11.3). If we removed content together with a warning, you can appeal the removal; if we reverse it, the warning is withdrawn too. A Take cannot be restored after a successful appeal, because Takes are temporary and their copies are deleted, but we correct our records and lift any action that came with the removal. We never restore apparent child sexual abuse material. People who reported content can ask us to review our decision on their report with the Appeal button under the result message in the TakeTurn chat, in Settings > Report an issue, through the website form or by email, within the same 6 months.
A person who was not involved in the original decision, where our team size allows, will review your appeal in a timely, fair and objective way. We tell you the result in the TakeTurn chat and by email. If we find we made a mistake, we reverse the decision without undue delay and restore your account as it was, including your friends, streaks and username, and we remove the strike from your history. If we keep the decision, we tell you why. Sending an appeal changes nothing until we decide. If a limit or suspension ends, or we lift it early, while your appeal is still being reviewed, we close the appeal and the decision stays on your record. You can still appeal after a limit or suspension has ended, and if we reverse the decision, we remove it from your record.
11.8. Your choices while your account is restricted, removed or banned.
- Log out. Logging out never deletes anything. It only ends your session on that phone. When you sign in again, you see the same status, and your right to appeal is unchanged.
- Delete your account during a limit, suspension or review. The normal 90-day deletion period applies (Section 15.3). If you sign back in within those 90 days, your account comes back, any limit or suspension continues for the time that was left, and a review continues where it stopped.
- Delete your account for good after a removal or ban. Your account and data are deleted right away, with no 90-day restore period, except the minimum we must keep (see the Privacy Policy, Section 13), and you can no longer appeal. After a ban, the Apple or Google account you used still cannot be used on TakeTurn.
- Create a new account (after a removal only). This deletes your removed account for good: your friends, streaks and catches do not come back, you can no longer appeal, and your old username stays reserved. You then sign up like anyone else, through the waiting list or a friend's reference. This option is not available after a permanent ban.
- Request a copy of your data. We email it to you within the time the law where you live requires, and never later than 30 days. Nothing else changes.
- Do nothing. A removed or banned account stays as it is for 6 months, the time you have to appeal. After that, we delete its data automatically (see the Privacy Policy, Section 10).
Before we delete anything, the app shows you a confirmation that says exactly what you will lose.
11.9. Your friends are not penalized. While your account is limited, suspended or under review, your streaks with friends are paused and do not break, Takes in progress between you and your friends are canceled without anyone being marked as having missed them, and friends cannot send you new Takes. Your friends see only that you cannot receive Takes right now, or that you are temporarily unavailable. If your account is removed or banned, it disappears from your friends' lists without any explanation to them. While your account is suspended, under review, removed or banned, you receive only notices from TakeTurn, such as decisions and appeal results, and no notifications about friends.
11.10. Other options. If you live in the European Union (or in Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein once the DSA applies there), you may also be able to use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under the EU Digital Services Act, complain to your national Digital Services Coordinator, or take your case to court (see our DSA page). If you live in the United Kingdom, you can complain to us about content, reporting or our compliance with the Online Safety Act using the same channels, and you have the right to bring a claim for breach of contract if we remove your content or restrict your account in breach of these Terms. Using our appeal process does not limit your legal rights.
11.11. Misuse. If an account often sends manifestly illegal content, we will suspend it for a reasonable period after a warning, or remove or ban it for severe violations. If someone often files reports or appeals that are clearly unfounded, we may, after a warning, stop processing them for a reasonable period.
11.12. No duty to monitor. We do not promise to monitor all content or conduct on TakeTurn, and we are not responsible for content sent by users. But we may review content when it is reported to us, or when the law requires or permits it.
12. Intellectual property and copyright (DMCA)
12.1. Our property. The Service, including the apps, website, software, design, logos, the TakeTurn name and other trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Except for the limited license in Section 13, these Terms do not give you any rights in our property.
12.2. Respect others' rights. Do not send content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.
12.3. Copyright complaints (DMCA). We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws. If you believe content on TakeTurn infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent, registered with the US Copyright Office:
Copyright Agent, TakeTurn (RETROBOND TEKNOLOJİ BİLİŞİM LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, Section 1.1) Cumhuriyet Mah. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv. Cadde 224 No: 41 A/A, Nilüfer, Bursa, Türkiye Email: support@taketurn.co
Your notice must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed;
- a description of the material you believe is infringing, and enough information for us to find it (for example, the username of the account that sent it, and the date and time);
- your name, address, phone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Because Takes are deleted quickly, please contact us as soon as possible. We may not be able to act on content that has already been deleted.
12.4. Counter-notices. If your content was removed because of a DMCA notice and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent at the address in Section 12.3. It must include:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- a description of the content that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and phone number; and
- a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to the person who filed the original notice. Where restoring the content is possible, we may restore it 10 to 14 business days later, unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action.
12.5. Repeat infringers. We will remove, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights.
12.6. False claims. Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages.
13. Our license to you
13.1. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, worldwide, royalty-free, non-assignable, non-exclusive, revocable license to download and use the TakeTurn app on devices you own or control, only to use the Service as intended.
13.2. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, this license is also limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, and as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (see Section 21).
13.3. The app may update automatically. Some updates may be required to keep using the Service.
14. Third-party services
14.1. The Service relies on third-party services, such as Apple and Google for sign-in and push notifications, and infrastructure providers for hosting and storage. Your use of Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In is also subject to Apple's or Google's own terms and privacy policies.
14.2. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control, including app stores, your phone's operating system and your mobile network.
15. Pausing and deleting your account
15.1. Pause. You can pause your account at any time in Settings (see Section 5.10).
15.2. Delete. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings. You can also ask us to delete it, without the app, on our web deletion page at taketurn.co/delete-account or by contacting us (Section 24).
15.3. What happens next. When you delete your account:
- deletion starts right away, and other users no longer see your account from then on;
- deletion is complete after 90 days, unless you sign back in during that time;
- if you sign back in within 90 days, your account is restored in full; and
- your username stays reserved, so nobody else can take it.
If you want your data deleted sooner than 90 days, contact us (Section 24). The Privacy Policy explains what we delete and what minimal records we keep. If your account is limited, suspended, removed or banned, Section 11.8 explains what deleting it means.
15.4. Ending the agreement. These Terms end for you when your account is permanently deleted.
16. When we may suspend or end your access
16.1. We may suspend or remove your account, or stop providing all or part of the Service to you, if:
- you break these Terms or our Community Guidelines (see Section 11);
- we need to do so to comply with the law or a court order;
- your use creates a risk or possible legal exposure for us, other users or anyone else;
- you are under 18, or we reasonably believe you are; or
- we stop offering the Service in your country, for example because of a legal requirement there, or an app store or one of our providers stops supporting it.
16.2. We will tell you why, as explained in Section 11.6, unless the law stops us or doing so would put someone at risk.
16.3. If we stop the Service. We may decide to stop offering TakeTurn entirely or in some countries, or end this agreement with you for another valid reason. Except in the cases of Section 16.1 where we must act quickly, we will give you at least 30 days' notice where possible, and you can request a copy of your data before the end (see our Privacy Policy, Section 11).
16.4. What continues after termination. Sections that by their nature should survive will continue after these Terms end. These include Sections 2.4, 5.13, 7.4, 7.6, 8.3, 8.4, 9, 12, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 22.
17. Disclaimers
17.1. Please read this section carefully. Some countries do not allow certain disclaimers, so some or all of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract (Section 18.6).
17.2. TakeTurn is a free service. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", and the TakeTurn Parties make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment or non-infringement, and any warranties arising from a course of dealing or usage of trade.
17.3. In particular, to the fullest extent allowed by law, we do not promise that:
- the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or available in your country;
- Takes, replies or notifications will always be delivered, or delivered on time;
- screenshot and screen-recording protection, or notifications about capture attempts, will work in every case (Section 6);
- automatic checks, such as the sensitive-content blur or the face check, will catch or correctly judge every photo (Section 6.6);
- content will always be deleted from every place it might exist outside our control (such as a recipient's device or another camera);
- streaks, catches, references or other counters will always be counted correctly or kept (Section 5.13);
- any user is who they say they are, is 18 or older, or is safe or trustworthy, even if verified or vouched for by a reference;
- suggestions such as "People you may know" will be accurate or suitable for you; or
- the Service will work on every phone, operating system version or network.
17.4. Other people's conduct. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user or third party, on or off the Service, or for content that other users send. Be careful when deciding to meet anyone you know only through TakeTurn.
17.5. Not a storage or emergency service. TakeTurn is built so that Takes disappear. It is not a way to store or back up photos, and we have no duty to keep any content for you. TakeTurn is also not an emergency service (Section 10.4).
17.6. Your phone and other services. We are not responsible for problems caused by your phone, its operating system, your network, app stores, or Apple's and Google's sign-in and notification services (Section 14).
18. Limitation of liability
18.1. Some countries do not allow these limits, so some or all of this section may not apply to you.
18.2. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the TakeTurn Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, content, streaks, goodwill or other intangible losses, that result from:
- your use of, or inability to use, the Service;
- the conduct or content of any user or third party, including a person who captures, keeps or shares content you sent;
- a capture of your content that our protection did not block, or an automatic check that was wrong;
- unauthorized access to, use of, or changes to your content, unless caused by our failure to take reasonable security measures; or
- outages, delays, lost Takes, lost streaks or deleted content.
18.3. To the fullest extent allowed by law, the total liability of the TakeTurn Parties to you for all claims relating to the Service or these Terms, together, is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred US dollars (US$100) or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (TakeTurn is free, so this is usually zero). These limits apply whatever the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability or otherwise), and even if we were told that a loss was possible. They are part of what makes it possible to offer TakeTurn for free.
18.4. What we do not limit. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- our gross negligence or intentional misconduct; or
- any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
18.5. If you live in the EU or the UK. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. If you live in Germany, we are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence; for slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible and on which you may regularly rely), and only for typical, foreseeable damage. Sections 18.2 and 18.3 do not apply to consumers in the EU or the UK insofar as this Section 18.5 gives a different rule.
18.6. Your rights under consumer law in your country. If you use TakeTurn as a consumer, the law of the country where you live may give you rights that a contract cannot take away. These Terms never take away those rights. In particular:
- Japan: Sections 17, 18 and 19 do not exclude or limit our liability for damage caused by our intent or gross negligence. The limits in Sections 18.2 and 18.3 apply only where we were slightly negligent (not grossly negligent). Any clause that the Consumer Contract Act makes void does not apply to you.
- South Korea: we do not exclude liability for our intent or gross negligence, and any clause that the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions makes void does not apply to you.
- Turkey: we do not exclude or limit liability for our gross negligence or intent (Turkish Code of Obligations, Article 115), and any term that is unfair under the Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 does not bind you. You can bring a complaint to the consumer dispute board (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the consumer court where you live.
- Brazil: nothing in these Terms excludes our liability where the Consumer Defense Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor) does not allow it, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
- Australia and New Zealand: our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where it applies. Where we are allowed to limit our liability for breach of such a guarantee, our liability is limited to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.
- Quebec (Canada): the arbitration and class-action waiver in Section 20.4 does not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where the Consumer Protection Act does not allow it.
- Everywhere else: if the law where you live does not allow a disclaimer, limit, release or indemnity in these Terms, it applies to you only to the extent that law allows.
19. Indemnity
19.1. To the extent allowed by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the TakeTurn Parties from any claims, damages, losses, fines and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party or an authority and arising out of:
- your content, including claims by people shown in a Take you sent;
- your breach of these Terms or our Community Guidelines, including a false age or false information;
- your conduct towards other users; or
- your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.
19.2. We will tell you about such a claim promptly if we can, and we may choose to handle the defense ourselves, in which case you will cooperate with us. You may not settle a claim that affects us without our written consent.
19.3. This section does not apply to consumers in countries where such an obligation is not allowed, including the EU, the UK, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and Quebec, except to the extent the law permits, and it never covers losses caused by our own breach of these Terms or our own fault.
20. Governing law and disputes
20.1. Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey (Türkiye), without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. However, if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live that cannot be overridden by contract.
20.2. Talk to us first. If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first (Section 24) with your name, username, a description of the problem and what you would like us to do. We will try to resolve it informally within 60 days. Both of us agree to try this before starting arbitration or court proceedings, except for urgent claims for court orders (injunctive relief).
20.3. Courts (outside the US, and where arbitration does not apply). Subject to Section 20.4, any dispute will be decided by the courts and enforcement offices of Bursa, Turkey. If you are a consumer living in the EU, the UK, Turkey, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Quebec or another country whose law gives you the right to bring claims in your home courts (or before a consumer body there), you may bring claims there, and those laws decide which courts we may use.
20.4. Arbitration and class-action waiver (US users only).
Please read this carefully. It affects your legal rights.
(a) Who this applies to. This Section 20.4 applies only if you live in the United States. It does not apply where arbitration agreements or class-action waivers are prohibited or unenforceable, and it does not apply to users in the EU, the UK or any other country where such terms are not allowed for consumers.
(b) Agreement to arbitrate. You and TakeTurn agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service ("Dispute") will be resolved by binding individual arbitration, not in court. There is no judge or jury in arbitration, and review by a court is limited.
(c) Exceptions. Either of us may (i) bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies; and (ii) ask a court for an order to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property rights.
(d) Rules and administrator. The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect, as changed by this Section. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this Section. The arbitration may take place by video, phone or written submissions, or in person in the county where you live if you prefer. If the AAA is unavailable, the parties will agree on another administrator, or a court will appoint one.
(e) Fees. We will pay all filing, administration and arbitrator fees for any arbitration you start, unless the arbitrator finds that your claim was frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. Each side pays its own lawyers' fees unless the law or the arbitrator's award provides otherwise.
(f) Class-action waiver. You and TakeTurn agree that each may bring claims against the other only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it, and only to the extent needed to provide relief for that party's individual claim.
(g) Mass filings. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against us by the same or coordinated counsel, the demands may be administered in batches under the AAA's mass arbitration rules then in effect, and the parties agree to cooperate in good faith to resolve them efficiently.
(h) 30-day opt-out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement. To do so, send an email to the address in Section 24 within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. Include your first name, username, the email linked to your account, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. Opting out will not affect any other part of these Terms. If you opt out, Section 20.3 applies.
(i) Severability. If the class-action waiver in (f) is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) must be brought in court under Section 20.3, and not in arbitration. If any other part of this Section 20.4 is found unenforceable, the rest of it stays in effect.
(j) Changes. If we change this Section 20.4 after you accept it, you may reject the change by emailing us (Section 24) within 30 days of the change. In that case, the version you previously accepted continues to apply to you.
20.5. California users. Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3, California users may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210.
20.6. Time limit. To the extent allowed by law, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises. This does not apply where the law gives consumers a longer, mandatory period.
21. App store terms
21.1. Apple App Store. If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
(a) Agreement. These Terms are between you and TakeTurn only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). TakeTurn, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
(b) Scope of license. Your license to use the app is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing, where those features apply.
(c) Maintenance and support. TakeTurn is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app, as described in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation at all to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
(d) Warranty. TakeTurn is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app to you. Because the app is free, this amount is zero. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses due to a failure to conform to any warranty are TakeTurn's sole responsibility.
(e) Product claims. TakeTurn, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
(f) Intellectual property claims. If any third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, TakeTurn, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
(g) Legal compliance. You confirm that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a US government embargo, or that has been designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
(h) Developer contact. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to us using the contact details in Section 24 (name and postal address of the provider, email support@taketurn.co, telephone +90 534 666 77 99).
(i) Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms (for example, your wireless data service agreement) when using the app.
(j) Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Once you accept these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21.2. Google Play. If you downloaded the app from Google Play, you also agree to the Google Play Terms of Service. These Terms are between you and TakeTurn, not Google. Google is not responsible for the app or its content.
22. General terms
22.1. Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines (including the Child Safety Standards), are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
22.2. Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable part will be applied as far as the law allows.
22.3. No waiver. If we do not enforce a part of these Terms right away, we have not given up our right to do so later.
22.4. Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, or to an affiliate. You agree to such a transfer now. If we do, your rights under these Terms and the law will not be reduced, and we will tell you in the app.
22.5. Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, riots, power or internet failures, cyberattacks, failures or changes of third-party providers (including app stores and hosting providers), changes in law, or government action.
22.6. No third-party beneficiaries. Except as stated in Section 21.1(j), these Terms do not give any rights to anyone other than you and us.
22.7. Notices. We may send you notices through the in-app "TakeTurn" chat, a push notification, or the email linked to your account. We write them in the app language you chose in TakeTurn's Settings, or otherwise in your phone's language (in English if TakeTurn does not support it). You can send notices to us using the contact details in Section 24.
22.8. Headings. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect how these Terms are read.
22.9. Open-source software and credits. The app and website include open-source software, which is licensed under its own terms. Those terms, and credits for third-party material such as sample photos, are listed in the app (Settings > About > Open-source licenses). Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under those open-source licenses.
23. Changes to these Terms
23.1. We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law.
23.2. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app (for example, in the "TakeTurn" chat) at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless the change is needed sooner for legal or safety reasons, or relates only to a new feature.
23.3. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.
23.4. If you keep using TakeTurn after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account at any time.
24. Contact us
For anything (privacy, safety, legal or general), write to support@taketurn.co, use Settings > Report an issue in the app, or the form at taketurn.co/support.

Change history
- November 2, 2026
The provider is now RETROBOND TEKNOLOJİ BİLİŞİM LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, a company in Turkey (address, registration details, representative and phone number added). These Terms are now governed by Turkish law and disputes go to the courts of Bursa; your mandatory consumer rights and your right to go to court where you live stay, and US arbitration does not change.
- October 30, 2026
Explained that, when you have few friends, suggestions can also include very active people in your country (or nearby countries); activity is used only to choose and order suggestions and is never shown.
- October 30, 2026
Updated the contact section: users and authorities in the EU reach us directly through the contact points on our DSA page.
- October 25, 2026
Before launch: we say who provides TakeTurn until our company exists, explain more clearly what we are and are not responsible for (screenshots, automatic checks, streaks, test versions, disagreements between users), add the rules that consumer law in your country keeps for you, and update captions to 100 characters and the friend suggestions.
- October 18, 2026
Updated the sign-up steps: you now sign in with Apple or Google before you enter your birthday. If the date is under 18, the account made at sign-in is deleted at once and that sign-in account can't sign up again until the person turns 18 according to that birthday.
