Privacy Notice (Canada)

You give your consent when you accept the Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy at sign-up. We collect only what the service needs; we do not ask for sensitive information, and the photos you choose to send are used only to deliver them and keep the service safe.

1. All of Canada (PIPEDA)

• Accountability: RETROBOND TEKNOLOJİ BİLİŞİM LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ, a limited liability company established in Turkey, Cumhuriyet Mah. Fatih Sultan Mehmet Blv. Cadde 224 No: 41 A/A, Nilüfer, Bursa, Türkiye. Person accountable for privacy: Mertcan Şimşek, support@taketurn.co.
• What, why, how long: Privacy Policy Sections 2, 5 and 10. We collect only what the service needs, use it only for those purposes, do not sell it, and delete it as listed.
• Consent: You agree to the Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy at sign-up. Push notifications use the phone's own prompt. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account (Privacy Policy Section 13) or writing to us; some features then stop working.
• Activity status and "People you may know": only your friends see your green dot (opened TakeTurn in the last 48 hours, never a time), and you can turn it off in Settings > Privacy > Show my activity status. With few friends, suggestions also use your approximate country and whether people there opened TakeTurn in the last 3 days, only to choose and order them, never shown. You can object by writing to us (Privacy Policy Section 7.4).
• Safety measures: on-phone sensitive-content check (no upload, only a yes/no mark travels with the Take); no automatic scanning of Takes, with human review of reports and reports of child sexual abuse material to NCMEC and to Canadian authorities as the law requires; age range from Apple or Google where offered; under-18 lock (one-way code (hash) of the sign-in account and the date the person turns 18). Crash reporting is not switched on yet; when it is, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) handles crash data only.
• Transfers: Data is processed outside Canada, mainly in the United States and other countries where Cloudflare, Apple and Google operate, by service providers under contract, and our team may access it from Turkey. It may be accessible to authorities there under their laws.
• Access and correction: ask in the app, at taketurn.co/support or at support@taketurn.co; we answer within 30 days. Complaints: Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
• Breaches: we keep a record of every breach and report breaches that create a real risk of significant harm to the Commissioner and to you.

2. Quebec (Law 25)

• Person in charge of the protection of personal information: Mertcan Şimşek, support@taketurn.co.
• Consent: we ask for it in clear and simple terms, for the purposes in the Privacy Policy. Selfies are reviewed by a person, deleted right after the decision, and no face template is made, so we do not create a biometric database or use biometrics to verify identity.
• Profiling and identification technology: none for ads. "People you may know" uses your friend network and, with few friends, your approximate country (estimated from your IP address) and whether people there opened TakeTurn in the last 3 days, only to choose and order suggestions; the country and activity are never shown. To stop this use, write to us at support@taketurn.co or in the app (Settings > Report an issue > Privacy request or a copy of my data).
• Decisions by automated means: many reports from verified people can limit an account until a person reviews it. You can ask which personal information was used, the reasons and main factors that led to the limit, and have a member of our team review it (s. 12.1).
• Transfers outside Quebec: before personal information is communicated outside Quebec, we carry out the privacy impact assessment the law requires and protect the information by a written agreement.
• Your rights: access, rectification, deletion, de-indexing, portability in a structured, commonly used technological format, withdrawal of consent. We answer within 30 days. Complaints: Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
• Confidentiality incidents: a register is kept; the Commission and affected people are told when there is a risk of serious injury.
